2015.....

Bringing in the New Year is fun. No matter if you're setting in the warmth of your home with your loved ones or celebrating with friends and waiting for the count down. Many of us have thought this past week of changes we would like to make for 2015. Some make a list of many things. But this year lets just chose one or two things. Maybe we just need to work on one thing. No matter if it's saving more money, losing weight or learning something new. We get over whelmed with a list of to do's and we get nothing accomplished. If by chance you do good with your first goal then maybe you can move on to your second item. If you should fail the first few weeks, don't give up. Re-group and start over. What ever you choose, do it well and stay focused.
You might be wondering what I'm going to work on. It would be my blog. Many of you told me you missed reading it. I'm going to try to blog at least every other day, I might surprise you and blog every day. I always don't have exciting things happen every day and some days I want to keep things private.
My wish for my friends in 2015 is for health and happiness. Choose your words carefully and remember to be kind.

Maybe each morning I could take the loooong way into the flower shop just so I could drive by this field and smile........

Mail box visitor....

Pulling up to my mail box the other evening this who I found waiting on me. Seems he had crossed the road and was trying to figure out where he was headed. I thought about picking him up and taking him to the pond, but I figured I would let him choose his own path.

August 12, 1984

Daddy once told me that when my baby's start to walk it begins. As usual Daddy is right......where has the time gone.
30 years ago today a little girl came into my life and has filled my heart with so much love. She has made me laugh till my side hurts, made me cry, made me the cutest little presents with her little hands. Wrote me the sweetest little notes and given me a few gray hairs.
She made me wait an extra 18 days to see her. Nothing like being pregnant for almost 10 months!!!
Happy Birthday Sandra Denise, Momma loves you!!

August 6.....

As I stood in the card isle I became teary eyed reading anniversary cards and thinking about the love that Thomas and I have shared the last 28 years. Today we celebrate 21 years of marriage.
Finding the right card isn't easy. Picking up the third card I knew it was the one. Funny isn't it-you think they wrote it just for you...
Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband. I'm so blessed to be your wife.

Antiques and baby's.......

Our destination for the day was to find antique shops with the hope of finding some deals. This is what we found as we headed down one road. Thomas drove by it twice so we could get a good look at these two baby eagles. The nest was huge with tons of moss. These two baby's didn't have a care in the world as cars and trucks drove by. We've seen nest all week but this was our first to see baby's. Wish we would have been lucky enough to see the parents.

Show #9559

It's been a busy three weeks. Lots of phone calls, paper work and late nights getting everything in order for the 39th Crothersville Red White & Blue Festival.

But come 10 Saturday night when those Zambelli fireworks went off I forgot how tired I was.......

Return to Normal......

I was never so happy to turn the calendar to June the other day at the shop. Heather and I did the happy dance as we said, hello June.
May was brutal, over 300 prom corsages, eight weddings, Mother's Day, graduation party's and all the everyday orders. I was over the 10 hour days and ready for things to return to a normal routine. This is what I was ready to return to....

Nothing but the best for Crothersville.....

We're so excited......after a long few months of working with the Zambelli Fireworks, it's official....
Brady posted the news late this afternoon on our web page, www.crothersvillerwb.com. The RWB Festival Committee couldn't hardly sleep last for all the excitement. But most of all we're excited to bring fireworks back to the community. Many folks from the community and especially the kids wanted fireworks.
The committee done their research and Zambelli is the best and is known all over the world. Nothing but the best for the Crothersville community.

No place like home......

After a long week of designing flowers it was good to come home to my gardens. The quietness and the buzz of the bee's was relaxing. Was able to get all my pots planted and place some of my garden decorations. There is really "no place like home".......

Three full coolers.....

The phone hasn't stopped ringing all week. Between Mother's Day and Prom we have filled all three coolers. On top of that we have wedding's, birthday's, get well and funeral work. All we need is some sweet baby's to be born. I've even taken some orders at home tonight. Guess word got out that we are making a run to Crothersville tomorrow.

A New Mower........

Took Daddy shopping for a new riding lawn mower today. Everyone knows that his yard is the best looking one in Uniontown.

Never one to own a riding lawn mower or even use one, push mower was all he used. But at 88 walking behind a push mower has become a little tiring.

He talked all last summer that he might have to break down and buy one. So today was the day. To say the least he was excited when Missy told him to take a set and get a feel for it.

The View.....

Most folks keep reading material in their bathroom. For whatever reason some folks might have you could find puzzle books, car/truck magazines or newspapers. Our view today at Jubilee Flowers looks like this-
this was the morning view when you went to do your business......white hydrangea and gyp.

and this was the view in the afternoon, red and white hydrangea.

Who needs reading material when you have a view like this!!

The visitor.......

While doing some yard work today Thomas and I noticed we had a visitor making his way to the pond.

He really didn't care what we were doing he just knew he needed to get to the pond. He was a rather dirty fellow as his shell was covered in mud.

Miss Lily kept her eye on him. Thomas made sure she kept her distance. She knew that something different was in her yard and she needed to check it out.

Whistles.....

Every Spring these little seed pockets appear on Maple trees. My brother Gary and I would tear off the bottom half and make whistles out of them. We would ride our bikes and whistle as loud as we could. While mowing today I noticed them on my trees. Your thinking ....no she didn't--YES, I tore one in half and whistled while I mowed. Some things you never out grow.

Monday's Memories.....

Looking through my pictures I came across this one. It was taken a few years ago. The scarf's they are wearing were presents and they put them on as soon as they opened them. My babies are all grown up.....

Surprise.......

What a surprise when my bestie brings me lunch. It was awesome to see her and spend time with her. We even planned a few events for the summer. Thomas and Ryan won't care where we go as long as we let them choose where we have dinner at. Those two are pretty good at picking out great places to eat. And they even let us do a little shopping.

Twice the blessings.......

Even though it was snowing, cold and windy it was an amazing day. Taking Mom and Daddy to the doctor for their yearly check-up, enjoying lunch together and then running a few errands it was a terrific day. Spending time with them, watching them hold hands and bragging to the doctor they had been married for 67 years. Times like these makes me count my blessings twice...

Need a little~ Happy...

Being a florist you experience many different emotions during the day. Within the past eight day's I have helped two young couples choose flowers for their baby's funeral. Both little boys. No matter how much time passes the heart still aches as was shown this afternoon as a husband of 40 years ordered flowers in memory of his wife. He was trying so hard to be strong but his tears he could not hold. One thing for sure-we need a little....Happy!!
