Manny's Chop House.....

Thomas and I had dinner at Manny's Chop House last night. We've ate there many times and we enjoy the atmosphere. There are plates from every state and even a few from Indiana. The steaks were tender and the shirmp was cooked to perfection. We had a wonderful time, just the two of us.

Still Raining.....

It's still raining but not as hard. It will rain for a while then the sun comes out for about half hour and then the wind picks up and it rains again. Lily and Bristol love looking out the window at the rain.
I decided to make Chocolate Chip Cookies...named them" Debby", Thomas laughed when I told him what I named them. Oh well, they tasted awesome just out of the oven.

It stopped raining for a while later in the evening and we all ventered out. This is our view as we look out from the screened porch...

and this is our view as we look out front....

and to the side.....the weather man says maybe the rain will be gone by Thursday. We're keeping our fingers crossed. The rain hasn't ruined our vacation, we've been able to rest up. I've caught up on my reading and Thomas has been able to watch a few movies that he has been wanting to see.

Don't need any sunglasses.....

Been just hanging out at the lake, not much to do but nap and kick back. I love looking at pictures, could set and look at them for hours. Thomas, Lily and Bristol are napping and I'm enjoying all my old pictures......I love the ones when Thomas was just a little boy, doesn't he look so cool in the sunglasses? Actually, he looks good in anything on any given day!!! We haven't seen the sun in a few days, we just need the umbrella.

Living Life.....

Life is not a race-but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say "thank you", " I love you", and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental-search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things are really free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself-plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.       `Bonnie L. Mohr

My Daddy....

Happy Father's Day to my Daddy. I could look the world over and over and never find a Daddy as loving, kind and giving as the one I was blessed with. Love you bushels.......

June 15.....

All week I've been thinking about June 15.........As I write this I can't hardly hold back the tears. June 15, 2011 was the first day of chemo for me. I was scared to death, terrified and a million other things were running through my mind. It didn't matter how tight Thomas held my hand I was still scared. It's the not knowing that scares a cancer patient.
But here I am a year later, my hair is still growing back and I've been getting good reports every four months from the doctor. Even though I get good reports, cancer is still on my mind every day. I don't dwell on it or let it control me, it's just there........it never goes away. I can be swamped at the flower shop, busy in my gardens or fixing dinner for Sarah, Sandra, their boyfriends and Thomas. We can have a wonderful evening setting around the dinner table and all of a sudden I think of cancer. Just for a split second it will scare me......but I remember that I am more powerful than it and I kicked it's butt once and I will do it again!!

Chicks.....

Remember my baby chicks, they were four days old here.....

Here they are just the other day. They are 2 months old and have moved into the big house. They still stick together and not sure of their place on the pecking list. The queen hen lets them know they are newbies and they will have to earn their spot on the roost. They made friends with the ducks and they visit often through the fence.

Photographs.....

It pleases me to take amateur photographs of my garden, and it pleases my garden to make my photographs look professional

......xo

Thanks for my friends at the Crothersville Red White & Blue Festival who have been supportive. To those who have sent me funny text messages to keep me smiling. To my friend who called me this morning.....that was so thoughtful of you and even though you made me tear up, it's just what I needed.
To those who have nothing better to do than make fun of me and make jokes....... you need to remember.....what goes around comes around.
Things travel fast and some folks who really don't know me have come to me and said, they were sorry that people have nothing better to do than make fun of me or cause problems. The funniest one was from one lady who I really didn't know and she said it pretty good.....grown people acting like Junior High kids.
  Thanks, everybody........xo

Denise.......

I'm back....been helping Linda prepare for Denise graduation party. There was lots to do. We've all had our little jobs. On Thursday, Linda and Derrick mowed, Janet, Linda's Mom was cleaning the house, Thomas was repairing some things out in the shop and I was baking 175 cup cakes.  Denise....yes where was Denise.....she was working at her new job at the bank. I think I had the best job, don't ya think!!!!
We were all very proud of Denise. She gave a great speech which she had only written the night before. She told me that she wasn't worried, she had written lots of speeches and this one was easy to write. Boiler Up, Denise....we all love you!!

This week is the start of the, Crothersville Red White & Blue Festival. The weather man says, no rain or humidity. Sure hope he's right. I brought in the first vendor tonight. I meet them at Uniontown station and escorted them into town. Got them settled in and they started setting up house. It's a kids petting zoo. Children of all ages will enjoy petting and feeding the animals. They even have the world's smallest buffalo, certified by the Guiness World Book of records. He weighs 600 pounds. All the fun starts at 5pm on Thursday, June 7.
We have a few more booths this year. I've gotten more request than usual. A friend of mine said maybe since the economy is trying to pick up maybe that has helped. They had received more request at their festival too. Didn't take my camera tonight, so I'll show one from a few years ago.....
