Over whelmed........

After mowing this morning I headed to my favorite greenhouse. I have learned if you wait to long your choices are far and few between. I was amazed at all the flowers. I could have stayed the whole day in there. My mind was racing with ideals. But I also remember how hot the last few summers have been. I only picked what I really needed. I would have loved to load my truck full with one of everything.
I did find some succulents. Hens & Chickens, most of you know what they are. I have ventured out and been growing different kinds this winter. They had some that I didn't have so I got a few of them. I've got everything under plant lights. Rule of thumb--nothing plants till the Monday after Mother's Day. I'm sure I'll be back at least a couple times before May 13.

Aching Back.......

Planting trees, weeding and getting the gardens ready makes for a bad back. Back for another visit with Dr. Levi in the morning before going into the shop. Had the day off so I figured I needed to rest. It was a beautiful day and I could have done a few things outside, but I knew better.
I spent most of the afternoon working on the RWB and got tons done. Was able to catch up on phone calls, emails and paper work.
Bristol, Lily Belle and I took enjoyed an evening walk and we spotted this nest.......

Three cheers for chemo......

Headed out early this morning for my mammogram......sorry no pictures. Nancy was my nurse. She always takes care of me. I'm glad I get her each time, as she knows what we need to watch for. I have three lymph nodes that we keep an eye on that lay to the side of my breast. These three are easy to see. The others can only be seen with a CT Scan. I scooted up to the machine and got squeezed in and Nancy got her pictures. She looked at me and said, "you need to see this". I walked over and looked at the two computer screens and I wanted to jump up and down. I raised my arms in the air and said, "yea for chemo", losing almost half of my hair, being sick and going through hell some days was worth it. We compared the pictures from the last time and the lymph nodes seemed to be the size of walnuts. I refer to these three as the "islands". They lay just like islands in the tropics. In today's pictures, they looked like there were the size of peas. Wow.....what a blessing. I've been on cloud nine all day. Just another day of me, "Kicking Cancer's Butt".

It's been a looong day! Sandra had four wisdom teeth removed this morning. She is doing rather well. Better than Sarah and I did years ago. I was amazed when I left just a bit ago, there was no swelling. Yea, for Sandra.  She's been using ice packs and had mashed potatoes for supper. She said there was just a dull pain. No stitches, doc said to just let natural healing close the wound. Sarah and I had stitches and was sick for days. I would post a picture from when she was sleeping this afternoon but I'll just show the usual beautiful flowers......

Counting Down.......

It's not much of a day off from work when your to-do list is a mile long. I'm now counting down the days till I'm off again.........

Coming Alive........

With the warmer temperatures and longer daylight my gardens are beginning to come alive.

The hyacinths are in full bloom.

The tiny blue flower of the Forget-me-nots bloomed out just today.

I couldn't believe how much the peonies have grown this week, they are almost eight inches tall.

A dear friend of mine gave me this Red Bud tree when it was just a ten inch sapling. It's now over 12 feet tall. I noticed this afternoon that the top had started blooming. I'm hoping that it's as stunning as last year.

I've always wanted a purple magnolia. Today was my lucky day. I got a great deal on one and planted it  in a spot that I had been saving it for. Daddy came back as I was putting the last of the soil around it. He said he was glad I put it on the east side that way he could enjoy it to.

As Thomas and  I gathered eggs this evening I counted 19, the girls did good today. So, if any of you need a dozen eggs let us know......

She's a what........

Bristol and I headed to the doggie beauty shop this afternoon. He believes he is special and that he needs pampered. If he would admit it he only goes to check out the ladies.
He has never allowed Thomas and I to trim his nails. On the other hand Lilly Belle loves it. She lays in your lap and relaxes. The puppies enjoy also. Never once do they give us a hard time. They enjoy the kisses they get between each clipping.
We walk in the shop and sure enough this one female is standing on her hind legs to get a closer look at him. Not once but three times she's checking him out. I tell Bristol you've not been here thirty seconds and you already caught the eye of a lady. He has that, "I'm not sure look". Not sure why he has that look on his face. Then I figured it out, this dog (lady) only has hair on her ears and tail. I tell him she's a Chinese Crested Hairless dog. I get a, "she's a  what" look. Bristol ain't to sure about her or if he wants to be around a dog with no hair. The owner of the shop comes to take Bristol back and she does her usual, isn't he handsome, oh my, Bristol you are so cute. He forgets about the hairless dog and heads back to check out the other lady's in the house.
As soon as we get home Lilly Belle gives him the once over to see who he's been around. He just makes his way to his favorite spot knowing that it's been a interesting day....a hairless dog...wow!!

Yea for Spring....

Enjoyed a walk with Sarah and my grand-dog, Diesel all 180 pounds of him. Such a beautiful day to be out side enjoying the sunshine. We noticed the magnolia bush had just popped in bloom

The bush is full of blooms, can't wait for them all to pop open. Hope all my friends took the time to be out side today and soak in some ray's of sunshine......
