Harley and Pumpkins......
Sarah and Pat stopped by this evening. They had a beautiful day for a ride over to Huber's Orchard. Sarah said the only bad part about riding the Harley was not being able to bring home a pumpkin. That's my Sarah, still a little girl at heart. Pat will have to gas up the truck and take her to the patch so she can pick out a few.

No place like home.......
Wanted to bottle up the last couple of days and open it when it's zero with snow on the ground. Thomas and I had an amazing weekend. So much that as we set on the deck late that evening with a roaring fire going we tried to figure out how to make the day last. We worked around the yard a little and everything looked so pretty and green. Green thanks to the rain the other day.
Most of the flowers are gone for the year, but the knock-out roses are still going strong. The ferns, elephant ears, banana trees and ornamental corn are still growing.
As we walked around the yard Thomas was glad that the dogwoods we planted were still doing good. We planted four pecan trees that came up from seed between the tavern and the flower shop and they are almost five feet tall now. We babied them for years. Seems they have grew almost a foot this year.
We are so blessed to have each other and a beautiful place to call our home.

Rhythm of the rain.....
Setting on the porch listening to it rain. If you listen close enough the rain will tap out a rhythm. The few flowers that are left in my gardens are getting the dust washed off of them. The sound of rain dancing on the tin roof calms the soul. Weather man says rain during the night. Hoping for no thunder or we will be up all night listening to Miss Lily bark.

Bazooka.....
I love bubble gum, especially Bazooka. Since I was a kid I've always been a loyal customer. I can remember buying it for 2 cents for a single piece or you could buy it in a package of five. I always had bazooka in my purse. When Sarah and Sandra was big enough they always ask for Bazooka gum. They knew they could always find some in the bottom of my purse. Never cared for the new flavors when they came out in other brands. No green apple, strawberry or watermelon for me just give me the old fashion Bazooka. Soon after my taste buds were back to normal after chemo I purchased some Bazooka. I hadn't chewed gum in a few months and was excited to blow bubbles again. I opened the package with anticipation and started to chew......gag and gag some more. I was sicked by all the sugar and the taste was terrible. Had I picked up a bad package, what had they done to my ole Bazooka. I opened another package and still the same, gag. It wasn't the gum it was me. The nurses had explained how some things that I enjoyed before would no longer taste good or they would seem to make me sick to my stomach. No! not my Bazooka. Seems the high content of sugar makes me sick. Needless to say I was not a happy girl. Even after three years just the thought of chewing my favorite bubble gum makes me sick. Sick cause I can't enjoying an afternoon of blowing bubbles. Just one more reason to curse Cancer.
It's the same thing with Coke. I was not a big Coke drinker nor any other kind of soda. I would crave a ice cold Coke a couple times a week. They had to be ice cold, it was the only way to drink them. The high sugar content in them makes me sick too. No matter how cold I got it, the taste wasn't the same. I can live without Coke or any other soda but I miss my Bazooka.
